Inca Queue

A couple of months  it was reported that the number of permits available to visit the Inca citadel  Peru were limited, due to the high number of visitors from China, I’m not sure how this is working as now ten minute slots for a hundred people at a time have been introduced in order to alleviate bottlenecks, there are plans to open a visitor centre and on site toilet facilities, again I’m not sure this will help achieve UNESCOs target of no more than 2,500 visits daily, given that last year Manchu Picchu clocked up over 11 million last year, surpassing the recommended target greatly.

Blending In

Field Candy have launched a new range of tents for this summer, one of which resembles a festival stage, it sleeps 2-3, has a handy porch for storing those festival essentials booze and toilet rolls, hopefully you won’t be able to miss it among those thousands of other tents.£195

Loads a Money

Anyone remember Harry Enfield’s character “loads of money” and of course there was “Stavros”, the reason I ask is because travellers to Greece this year are being advised to take at cash, just in case the country slides into bankruptcy and there are issues with ATM machines and businesses accepting cards, there is no immediate threat, but having at least five days’ worth of additional cash would prevent any unnecessary financial problems, in addition holiday makers are being advised to book through an ABTA or ATOL protected company rather than the do-it yourself option.
