Haunted my ar..

If you’re a bit of a sceptic like me, then the thought of a haunted house trail probably won’t impress. The Historic Houses Association (HHA) announced recently the launch of a Haunted and Horrible Histories Trail, linking their Members’ properties around the country which are either believed to be haunted by the spirits of yesteryear, or have seen misfortune and troubles.

The current occupiers of beautiful historic houses allegedly share their quarters with the ghosts of their generations past, where spirits roam their former bedrooms, kitchens and gardens, and where walls and floorboards have seen death and tragedy, I know I can be a little cynical, but apparently, Professional Ghost Hunters and Mediums have themselves been scared by what they have experienced in these houses, and some of those featured offer overnight ghost experiences for the most daring. So don’t listen to me, go on join in the ghost hunting, there are plenty of locations around the country.

Am I getting old? there’s probably no need to reply to that, I already know the answer, anyway, more and more, every time a phone goes I find myself saying is that yours or mine to the people I’m with, well now I am considering purchasing the iLight case, the only problem is, if all my friends do I’ll be back where I started. The iLight case allows your entire phone to radiate when you receive calls and texts. With a yellow transparent case and 4 plastic film inserts; the window shutter included in the case blocks the LED flash and allows the light transport around the iLight case. The film inserts are intricately designed guaranteeing to make your phone illuminate throughout the day. When using the iLight case you will need to activate the LED flash alerts setting on your iPhone. Once activated, close the window shutter to use light case; and watch your phone dazzle (along with everyone else’s maybe) when you receive texts and calls.

The iLight is available for the iPhone 5 and costs £9.95 from Glow.co.uk

I would need the Royal Philharmonic

I am not one for exercise, I have mentioned previously, getting hot and bothered is the term I use for exercise, but I certainly couldn’t do it without any sort of stimulation or distraction.

Boompods are up-and-coming British designers of mobile phone accessories, portable speakers and headphones and have just launched their sport-friendly wireless headphones.

The recently launched Sportpods are a companion for sports enthusiasts who need musical support to help them through those tough workouts. They fit securely in the ear allowing a tangle-free workout, without compromising on sound, the Sportpods features include: -Ergonomic design and over-ear hooks to ensure they stay put -Lightweight to allow free movement without the hassle of wires -Integrated volume and track control -Ability to take incoming calls -Bluetooth 3.0 technology with up to a 10 metre operating range -Built-in lithium battery with a speedy 2.5 hours recharging time -8 hours playback -6 hours talk time -Available in blue, orange and green with a soft touch finish, they do look good, but I’m afraid I would need the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to play for me personally before I would contemplate getting all hot and bothered.

On a Bender like Beckham

As David Beckham flies his pals to Morocco for his 40th birthday party, why not follow in his footsteps and have a bender of your own in a country in which there are so many ways to celebrate, do you think his voice gets higher or lower when he’s on the beer?

Leading Morocco tour operator Fleewinter regularly organises parties in Morocco and here are there different ways to go on a bender like Beckham!

Jardin d’Issil is a unique collection of Arabian-nights-style, air-conditioned tents located in a rural setting 20 minutes from Marrakech.

It is also Fleewinter’s most popular party location. The tents are colourfully decorated with brightly coloured silk cushions and rugs, and each has a large, private ensuite bathroom.  There is also a large ‘party tent’ available for groups of up to 45 people plus a communal swimming pool.  The reception building houses a bar and restaurant which has a terrace for al fresco dining by candlelight.  The close proximity to Marrakech makes it ideal for shopping in the souks before returning to the tranquillity of Jardin d’Issil.  A three-night break in May costs from £150 per person (B&B, two sharing) including a group gala dinner on one night and return private transfers.

To party in central Marrakech you need to be in the heart of the Medina in a traditional riad.  They usually only have a handful of rooms but there are larger ones that are perfect for a party such as Riad Chergui which has 9 bedrooms but, as it is spread over 2 courtyards, it still feels intimate. It has a very high standard of decor throughout and one of the biggest pools in the medina (7m x 6m).  A three night break on a B&B basis (two sharing a room) costs from £150pp including transfers

For a party celebration on the coast look no further than the Rebali Riads complex located in the village of Sidi Kaouki, 20 minutes south of Essaouira and just 15 minutes from the airport making a ‘party weekend’ a real possibility particularly Easyjet’s direct flights launch May 1.

The six villas nave from two to five rooms (18 in total) set in private, walled gardens. There is a large communal outside dining area and on-site chefs who can produce meals to order.  There is also a private Hammam (ideal for hen parties), a tennis court and swimming pools.  A three-night break costs from £158 pp. (two sharing a room) on a B&B basis and including return transfers.   Flights extra, bookable through Fleewinter on request
