Our appetite for visiting historic houses and gardens never wains, and recently released statistics for 2015, suggest the number of overseas visitors is expected to be higher than ever, and their fascination with Britain’s historic past even surpasses our own.
Hudson’s, publishers of a best-selling guide, Hudson’s Historic Houses & Gardens, has launched its first dedicated travel App, Hudson’s UK. The app can be downloaded for free to find the way to Britain’s favourite heritage places from stately homes like Blenheim Palace to hidden manor houses, gorgeous gardens and country churches.
History, heritage and events at you finger tips
The app is perfect for use individually, you can search for upcoming events, like festivals and fairs, car rallies and horse trials, exhibitions, tours and special openings or just for somewhere to go at the weekend. Clicking on the map will bring up full details of admission times and prices with photographs, directions and details like fun places to take children or whether you can get a cup of tea, shop or take your dog. You can search by choosing an area search near a town or search near any location, or by dropping a pin, filtering the data to highlight special interests or saving your favourites.
The app features nearly 1,000 places, Hudson’s UK can be downloaded for free from the Apple App store or Google Play store and looks great on a smartphone, iPad or tablet helping visitors get exactly the information they want, at their fingertips, wherever they are.
