The Gatehouse is all charming stone-built cottage with open plan interior .It has unusual architectural features, there is a huge living space and at its centre around a large wood-burning great after returning from all that fresh air, for those musicians amongst feel free to bash out a tune on the grand piano which you’ll find under the zebra! Yes, a whole grand piano.
On a galleried mezzanine above the living area you will find a comfortable king size bed is accessed Georgian staircase. There are additional bunks under the staircase. Completing the cottage is a bathroom with a huge 1930s cast iron bath and a well equipped kitchen with everything you need. If you don’t feel like cooking the local villages of Orton and Ravenstonedale have a host of pubs serving delicious food, they do get busy so it’s worth booking ahead.
The Gatehouse is located in the small hamlet of Kelleth, 3 miles from Orton, on the eastern fringe of the Lake District National Park. The perfect location for those who like nothing better than walking in the rolling hills and fells in this picturesque part of the UK you won’t have to go very far just outside the front door.
Kirkby Stephen slightly further away is a larger market town where you can get all your provisions, including restaurants and takeaways.
